The Am Wald estate consists of high-rise and row buildings from the 1960s onwards, up to fourteen storeys. The basements are extensive, with long corridors and compartments a considerable distance from the staircase, and a single address commonly serves several entrances. The old village centre and Potzham are detached and terraced houses with their own front doors, garages and gardens, and locking of varying age. The commercial sites to the east have their own access arrangements.
Getting to you
Taufkirchen is well connected by the A995 and the Münchner Straße, with the approach from Munich running mostly on the motorway. Within the municipality there are several kilometres between Am Wald and Potzham, which shows in the travel component — it is calculated from the actual road distance rather than one figure for the whole municipality. In the estate, the building number and entrance matter far more than the street: the blocks are numerous and look alike from the road.
