About us
ISAR Schlüsselnotdienst München is a locksmith business with premises in Munich. We do the work ourselves — you are not calling a platform that forwards the job to whoever is nearest and takes a cut.
What follows is a list of commitments rather than qualities. Every one of them can be checked against what actually happens at your door, which is the only kind of claim worth making in this trade.
What we commit to
The price is agreed before work starts, in writing
Our technician names the fixed price before touching the door and writes it down. The amount on the invoice is that amount. If it differs, one of the six documented exceptions applied — and you were told before, not after.
You can decline at no cost
Within the first ten minutes of arrival, if you do not want the work at the quoted price, there is no charge. Not a reduced charge — none. This is the clause that makes the quote worth anything.
Travel is calculated, not estimated
From the actual road distance between our premises and your address. You can check it: the calculator on this site uses the same figure the invoice will.
No time charging
Whether the opening takes five minutes or fifty makes no difference to the price. This is where most of the industry quietly makes up the gap between the advertised figure and the real one.
We do the work ourselves
You are not calling a dispatch platform that forwards the job to whoever is nearest. The person who arrives works for the business you called, at the address in the imprint.
We tell you when you do not need us
Ask the caretaker, check whether a window is open, look for the spare key, see whether your insurance covers it. Advice that costs us the job is on several pages of this site, deliberately.
Why this site talks about prices so much
Because in this trade the price is the trust problem, and everything else follows from it.
Locksmithing has a reputation in Germany that it largely earned. The pattern is familiar enough to have its own consumer advice literature: an advertised price that could not cover the journey, a subcontracted driver, a final figure assembled on the doorstep from surcharges nobody mentioned, and cash demanded at an hour when arguing is hardest. Courts have ruled on it repeatedly, and the Federal Court of Justice has upheld a criminal conviction for exploiting a customer\'s emergency in exactly this way.
The consequence is that a new locksmith cannot win trust by claiming to be trustworthy — everybody claims that, including the ones the advice literature is about. What can be done is to make the price checkable in advance, publish the exceptions rather than bury them, name what the competition charges and where we sit against it, and say plainly what we are not good at.
That is why the price page is the longest page on this site, and why it contains a section headed what speaks against us.
Our premises
Having an address you can visit is not a formality. It is the difference between a business you can take a dispute to and a phone number that stops answering. Most search results for locksmiths in Munich do not have one.

Our technicians are employed by us, not brokered. They drive marked vehicles, carry the common cylinders with them, and work from the same price list that is published on this website.
Photographs of the team, the premises and the vehicles go here once they have been taken. We will not use stock photography for that — a posed picture of somebody who does not work for us is exactly the kind of thing this page exists to avoid.
What we do not claim
Some things a young business simply cannot say, and saying them anyway is how the trade got its reputation.
- No invented history. We will not tell you we have served Munich for twenty years. Firms that genuinely have, have earned something we have not.
- No arrival time in minutes. You will not find "with you in 20 minutes" anywhere on this site. It depends on where our technician is and what the traffic is doing, and we tell you on the phone for your address instead.
- No success-rate figures. "99 % damage-free" is a number somebody made up. When we have enough real jobs to state one honestly, we will.
- No reviews until there are reviews. This page will show customer feedback when real customers have left some — not example text standing in for it.
