Houses on the Isar slope — and streets that do not run where you expect.
Locksmith in Harlaching
Harlaching lies east of the Isar on the high bank south of Untergiesing, on the way out towards Grünwald. It is a green, largely residential district of detached houses and villas, with the Harlaching hospital and the Säbener Straße training ground as its best-known landmarks.
Two things about it affect our work more than the buildings do: the streets wind, and the ground falls away steeply towards the river.
What it costs in Harlaching
Harlaching is in one of the Munich zones, which means travel is fully included in the fixed price — neither as a flat rate nor by the kilometre. What decides the price is which kind of opening it is and, for a door that has simply latched shut, what time it is.

Where Harlaching is
Harlaching sits east of the Isar on the high bank, south of Untergiesing and north of Grünwald. Mangfallplatz is the practical centre in the north; the Harlachinger Berg carries the hospital; and the Menterschwaige, with its beer garden on the slope above the river, marks the western edge. The main routes are the Naupliastraße, the Harthauser Straße, the Grünwalder Straße and the Säbener Straße, the last known well beyond the district as the address of Bayern Munich's training ground. West of the built-up area the land drops sharply to the Isar and its woods; south, the district runs into Grünwald without an obvious break.
What the buildings are like

Predominantly detached and semi-detached houses and villas, many from between 1910 and 1960, with newer building on subdivided plots among them. Along the Isar slope the houses are larger and the gardens more extensive. Smaller apartment developments are scattered through the district, concentrated around Mangfallplatz. Almost every property has a garage or carport and a garden gate in addition to the front door, and cellar entrances from the garden are common — so a single address can have four or five separate locks of quite different ages.
Getting to you
Harlaching is reached by the Grünwalder Straße and the Isar bridges. Parking in the residential streets is unproblematic and it is generally possible to stop directly outside. What makes it slower than the map suggests is the layout: the streets wind, several are dead ends, and the slope means that two points a hundred metres apart may have no direct connection. House numbers do not always run in an obvious order. Give the number and, if the entrance is not on the street the address names, say so.

Questions from Harlaching
My house has four different locks. Can I get one key for all of them?
Yes, and for a property with a front door, a garage, a garden gate and a cellar entrance it is usually worth doing. A keyed-alike or master key arrangement matches the cylinders so one key opens what you need, and you can still give a cleaner or a gardener a key that opens only part of it. It is designed after looking at the doors rather than bought off a shelf — the cylinders have to match in size as well as in system.
I want better security on the house. What actually helps?
Start with the cheapest thing, not the most expensive. A protective escutcheon covering the cylinder stops the most common forced entry there is, and it costs a fraction of a high-grade cylinder. Then check the cylinder does not stand proud of the fitting. After that, hinge-side pins. Only then does upgrading the cylinder itself make a real difference. On detached houses it is also worth looking at the terrace door and ground-floor windows, which are levered far more often than front doors are forced.
The streets here confuse my satnav. What should I give you?
House number, and a note on where the entrance actually is. Harlaching sits on a slope with winding streets and several dead ends, so two addresses that look adjacent on a map may have no direct connection between them. If the gate is on a side street, or the drive comes in from behind, that is worth thirty seconds on the phone. A photograph of the entrance on WhatsApp settles it completely.
And the questions that are the same everywhere

- Is travel included in the price? Inside Munich, yes. Beyond it, 1.50 € for every kilometre of the whole journey from our premises — not just the part outside the city. Full answer
- Will I have to prove who I am? Yes. Photo ID with that address, or ID plus a document linking you to it. If it is all inside, say so when you call. Full answer
