Working farms inside the city limits — the last of their kind in Munich.
Locksmith in Feldmoching
Feldmoching lies at the far northern edge of Munich. Its old centre still has working and former farms with houses, stables and barns — a kind of building that has essentially disappeared from the rest of the city.
South of it, the Lerchenau and Fasanerie estates are ordinary suburban housing, and to the west lie two lakes formed from gravel workings.
What it costs in Feldmoching
Feldmoching is in one of the Munich zones, which means travel is fully included in the fixed price — neither as a flat rate nor by the kilometre. What decides the price is which kind of opening it is and, for a door that has simply latched shut, what time it is.

Where Feldmoching is
Feldmoching sits at the northernmost edge of Munich. The old village centre gathers around the church of St. Peter und Paul on the Feldmochinger Straße. To the west lie the Feldmochinger See and the Lerchenauer See, both former gravel pits now used for bathing; to the south, the Lerchenau and Fasanerie estates. The main routes are the Feldmochinger Straße, the Lerchenauer Straße and the Dachauer Straße to the west. Beyond the district to the north and west lie open fields and the city boundary — Feldmoching is where Munich stops being a city.
What the buildings are like

In the village centre, former and partly still working farms with a farmhouse, stables and barns — building of a kind that has practically vanished from the rest of Munich, and where the locks on outbuildings are frequently decades older than those on the house. Around it, detached houses with garages and gardens. The Lerchenau and Fasanerie estates to the south consist of terraced rows and detached houses of the post-war decades. Garden buildings and sheds with simple locks are common throughout.
Getting to you
Feldmoching is reached by the Feldmochinger Straße, the Dachauer Straße and the motorway junctions to the north. Parking is unproblematic and it is usually possible to stop directly at the property. The district is large and thinly built in places, so a farm on the edge of the fields is a different proposition from a terraced house in Lerchenau — the travel component reflects that because it is calculated from the actual road distance to the address.
What we are usually called for in Feldmoching
- House, yard and barn doors at former farms
- Secondary and farm buildings with older locking
- Front doors of detached houses with garage and garden
- Garden buildings and sheds with simple locks
- Terraced house doors in Lerchenau and Fasanerie

Questions from Feldmoching
There are still working farms here. Do you handle barn and stable doors?
Yes, and they are more straightforward than people expect — older agricultural locks are mechanically simpler than modern cylinders. The difficulty is usually the door rather than the lock: frames that have settled over a century, hinges that have dropped, corrosion in an unheated building. Where something genuinely needs replacing we say so before starting. A photograph on WhatsApp is worth a great deal on a door of that age.
Is Feldmoching still Munich?
Yes, though it is the northern edge of it and does not feel like a city district — fields begin where the houses stop. That has no effect on whether we come. It affects the travel component, which is calculated from the actual road distance to your address, so a farm at the edge and a terraced house in Lerchenau are priced as the different journeys they are.
The shed lock is much weaker than the house lock. Does that matter?
More than people assume. On a property with outbuildings, what is stored in the weakest-locked building — tools, ladders, garden equipment — is exactly what makes forcing the house easier. Upgrading a shed lock costs very little and closes a gap that no amount of investment in the front door addresses. We would rather point at that than sell you a stronger house cylinder.
And the questions that are the same everywhere
- Do you actually speak English? Yes. By phone or on WhatsApp — writing is often easier than a call in a second language. Full answer
- What does a locksmith cost in Munich? It depends on the situation, the time and the driving distance. You get the final figure in writing before work starts. Full answer
- Is travel included in the price? Inside Munich, yes. Beyond it, 1.50 € for every kilometre of the whole journey from our premises — not just the part outside the city. Full answer
- Will I have to prove who I am? Yes. Photo ID with that address, or ID plus a document linking you to it. If it is all inside, say so when you call. Full answer
