Large estates in the north, and a new quarter on a former military training ground.
Locksmith in the Hasenbergl
The Hasenbergl lies in the north of Munich between Feldmoching and Am Hart. It was built from the late 1950s as one of the city's large social housing schemes, and much of the stock still belongs to housing associations and cooperatives.
North of it, on the Panzerwiese — a former army training ground, now a protected heath — the Nordhaide quarter has been built since the 2000s, so the district holds two very different generations of housing.
What it costs in Hasenbergl
Hasenbergl is in one of the Munich zones, which means travel is fully included in the fixed price — neither as a flat rate nor by the kilometre. What decides the price is which kind of opening it is and, for a door that has simply latched shut, what time it is.

Where Hasenbergl is
The Hasenbergl sits in the north of Munich, between Feldmoching and Am Hart. The area around the Dülferstraße, the Goldschmiedplatz and the shopping centre forms the older centre. To the north the Nordhaide extends across the former Panzerwiese, with the Landschaftspark Hasenbergl beside it — the heath itself is a nature reserve and one of the largest in the city. The main routes are the Dülferstraße, the Schleißheimer Straße and the Aschenbrennerstraße. The U-Bahn runs through, which makes the district considerably better connected than its reputation suggests.
What the buildings are like

In the Hasenbergl proper, large developments from the late 1950s onwards in rows and point blocks, three to twelve storeys. A substantial share belongs to housing associations and cooperatives, which means decisions about cylinders run through an office rather than a private landlord. The basements are extensive with long corridors and grouped compartments. In the Nordhaide, recent building with modern locking, underground parking and, in the newest blocks, electronic access.
Getting to you
The Hasenbergl is well connected by the Schleißheimer Straße, the Dülferstraße and the motorway junctions to the north. The roads are wide, parking is unproblematic, and the developments have visitor spaces near the entrances. As everywhere in large schemes, the useful information is the building number, the entrance and the floor rather than the street: one address commonly serves several staircases that look identical from where a vehicle can stop.
What we are usually called for in Hasenbergl

- Building entrance doors on locking systems with several staircases

Questions from Hasenbergl
My flat belongs to a housing association. Who decides about the lock?
The association, in most cases, and that is usually to your advantage. Their office holds the locking plan and often spare keys, so a call there may solve the problem without a locksmith at all — worth trying first if it is office hours. We can open your door against the usual proof of entitlement. Replacing a cylinder afterwards goes through them, because it belongs to a system covering the whole building.
What is the Panzerwiese?
A former army training ground north of the district, now one of the largest nature reserves within Munich — a heath with protected plant communities, crossed by paths and bordered by the Nordhaide quarter. It is worth knowing because it separates the Hasenbergl from what lies beyond it: there is no through road across the heath, so an address on the far side is a longer journey than the map suggests. Travel is calculated from the actual road distance, which accounts for that.
The buildings look alike. What do you need from me?
Building number, entrance, floor. The estates were laid out as single schemes, so the blocks repeat by design and a street address alone can point at several entrances. Adding which side of the courtyard you are on removes the rest of the ambiguity. It takes thirty seconds and regularly saves five minutes — which at night rates is worth having.
And the questions that are the same everywhere
- Do you actually speak English? Yes. By phone or on WhatsApp — writing is often easier than a call in a second language. Full answer
- What does a locksmith cost in Munich? It depends on the situation, the time and the driving distance. You get the final figure in writing before work starts. Full answer
- Is travel included in the price? Inside Munich, yes. Beyond it, 1.50 € for every kilometre of the whole journey from our premises — not just the part outside the city. Full answer
- Will I have to prove who I am? Yes. Photo ID with that address, or ID plus a document linking you to it. If it is all inside, say so when you call. Full answer
