Where Brunnthal is
Brunnthal sits in the south of the Landkreis München on the A8. The main village and the business park lie in the north, immediately at the motorway junction. The settlements of Hofolding, Faistenhaar and Kirchstockach lie further south and west, surrounded by woodland and fields. The main routes are the Münchner Straße, the Hofoldinger Straße and the motorway link. The Hofoldinger Forst encloses the southern villages, which is why they feel remote despite the motorway being only a few kilometres away. Oberhaching adjoins to the west, Hohenbrunn to the east and Sauerlach to the south.

Rural and spread across a large area. In all the settlements, detached houses and former agricultural properties with stables, barns and outbuildings predominate, some still worked. Plots are large. The business park at the motorway is entirely different: halls, offices and logistics premises with commercial locking, roller shutter doors and, in newer buildings, electronic access. Newer housing at the village edges has modern front doors and conventional cylinders. The locks on farm outbuildings are frequently decades older than those on the houses.

Brunnthal is reached by the A8. The business park and the main village lie directly at the junction and are correspondingly quick.
