Riemerling is suburban and near; Hohenbrunn is a village and further out.

Locksmith in Hohenbrunn

Hohenbrunn lies southeast of Munich on the railway towards Kreuzstraße. It consists of two quite different halves separated by open fields.

Riemerling, in the northwest, adjoins Ottobrunn and is closely built suburban housing. Hohenbrunn itself, to the southeast, is still a village with farms and barns among the houses.

What it costs in Hohenbrunn

Hohenbrunn is in zone 3, the surrounding district, so travel is added to the opening — calculated over the whole journey by road from our premises to your address, not from the boundary onwards and not as a flat rate for the municipality. Within a single municipality the routes often differ by several kilometres, so a flat rate would either overcharge you or be unsustainable for us. The calculator shows the amount as its own line.

For address suggestions and — only for addresses in zone 3 — for calculating the road distance, the address you enter is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited. Details are in our privacy policy.

The address decides the zone, and the zone is decided by its postcode. In Munich zones 1 and 2 travel is included; in zone 3 we calculate it from the actual driving distance.

Where Hohenbrunn is

Hohenbrunn sits southeast of Munich on the line towards Kreuzstraße. The Riemerling district lies to the northwest and borders Ottobrunn; Hohenbrunn itself, with the church of St. Stephan, lies to the southeast. The main routes are the Rosenheimer Landstraße, the Putzbrunner Straße and the Bahnhofstraße. Between the two parts lie fields and the area around Hohenbrunn station. Ottobrunn adjoins to the northwest, Putzbrunn to the north and Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn to the southeast. The gap between Riemerling and the village is genuine open country rather than a nominal boundary.

What the buildings are like

In Riemerling, detached, semi-detached and terraced houses of the 1960s to 1980s in a closely built settlement pattern, together with individual apartment buildings on central locking systems. Hohenbrunn itself is more rural: older properties with barns and stables among the houses, some still in agricultural use, and post-war detached housing around them. The locks on outbuildings there are frequently decades older than those on the front doors, and secondary and yard doors often retain their original hardware.

Getting to you

Hohenbrunn is reached by the Rosenheimer Landstraße and the A8. Riemerling lies closer to Munich and is correspondingly quicker to reach than the main village — with open fields between the two, that is a real difference rather than a nominal one, and it shows in the travel component because that is calculated from the actual road distance to your address. Parking is unproblematic in both parts.

Questions from Hohenbrunn

Riemerling or Hohenbrunn — which should I say?

Whichever you actually live in, and it matters here more than in most municipalities. Riemerling adjoins Ottobrunn and is suburban; Hohenbrunn village lies southeast with open fields between them. They are a genuinely different journey, and the travel component follows the actual road distance rather than the municipality name. Give the street and house number as well and nothing is left to guess.

My barn door has not been opened in years and will not budge. Can you help?

Usually yes, and the lock is rarely the real problem. Doors of that age tend to have settled frames, dropped hinges and corrosion — mechanically the locks are simpler than a modern cylinder. Where a lock has genuinely seized past saving we say so before starting rather than opening it and leaving you with the same problem next season. Do not use oil on it in the meantime; it makes a paste that guarantees the replacement.

Is it cheaper to wait until the morning?

Usually noticeably, and we will tell you rather than let you find out. Weekdays between 8:00 and 18:00 carry the standard rate; nights, Sundays and public holidays carry the highest. If nobody is at risk and you have somewhere to be, the difference is worth waiting for. If a neighbour holds a spare key, that saves all of it — and we would rather say so than take an unnecessary night call-out.
