Where Unterföhring is
Unterföhring lies northeast of Munich, immediately across the boundary from Bogenhausen. The media location runs along Betastraße and Medienallee in the south and east — a cluster of broadcasters, studios and production companies. The old village centre sits separately around the church of St. Valentin, and the Feringasee, a former gravel pit turned bathing lake, lies to the east. The main routes are the Föhringer Ring, the Münchner Straße and the Bahnhofstraße. The Isar forms the western boundary; Ismaning adjoins to the east. Despite the corporate presence the municipality is small, and the residential part still reads as a village that grew rather than a suburb that was planned.

Two halves that barely resemble each other. The media location consists of modern office and studio buildings with electronic access control throughout — turnstiles, security desks, and in places restricted zones with their own rules. An emergency locksmith is generally not the right contact there, and we say so rather than driving out. The residential part around the old centre is detached and terraced houses, with newer apartment developments closer to the boundary, most of them on central locking systems with underground parking. Around St. Valentin there is older village building stock with front doors of varying age.
Getting to you
Unterföhring adjoins the Munich city area directly and is reached quickly across the Föhringer Ring and the Isar bridge — it is the closest municipality in the district. Journeys within it are short. On the media sites, access runs through gates and security desks rather than through the street, which is a matter for the operator rather than for us. In the residential streets parking is unproblematic and it is usually possible to stop directly outside. For an apartment development, give the building number and the entrance, not only the street.
