A town in its own right until 1938 — and it still behaves like one.

Locksmith in Pasing

Pasing lies in the west of Munich on the river Würm. It was an independent town until 1938 and has never quite stopped acting like one: its own Marienplatz, its own town hall, its own park, and a station that is one of the busiest in Bavaria.

For anyone arriving from abroad it is a practical address — direct trains to the airport and the city centre — and the housing runs from new flats above a shopping centre to villas a few streets away.

What it costs in Pasing

Pasing is in one of the Munich zones, which means travel is fully included in the fixed price — neither as a flat rate nor by the kilometre. What decides the price is which kind of opening it is and, for a door that has simply latched shut, what time it is.

Google address check
For address suggestions and — only for addresses in zone 3 — for calculating the road distance, the address you enter is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited. Details are in our privacy policy.

The address decides the zone, and the zone is decided by its postcode. In Munich zones 1 and 2 travel is included; in zone 3 we calculate it from the actual driving distance.

When this price does not apply

  • Security locks of a higher resistance class
  • Multi-point locking (several bolts at once)
  • Security bars or additional locking devices
  • Technically difficult opening: jammed or warped door, broken bolt
  • Replacement parts such as cylinder, mortise lock or escutcheon
  • A situation that turns out to differ from what was described

In these cases our technician quotes the price before starting work, in writing. If you decline, there is no charge.

Where Pasing is

Pasing sits in the west of Munich on the Würm. The Pasinger Marienplatz with the old town hall is the historic centre; a few hundred metres away, Pasing station and the Pasing Arcaden shopping centre form the modern one. The area known as Am Knie is where the main roads meet. Landsberger Straße, Bäckerstraße, Institutstraße and Gräfstraße carry most of the addresses. North of the station lies the Pasinger Villenkolonie, a planned villa quarter from around 1900. West of the Würm the residential areas continue towards Obermenzing, and the Pasinger Stadtpark along the river forms the green middle. Trains from here reach the Hauptbahnhof in under ten minutes and the airport directly.

What the buildings are like

Three distinct patterns. Around the Marienplatz and the station, urban building of four to six storeys — part period, part post-war — together with recent developments at the Arcaden with modern locking systems and underground parking. North of the station, the villa colony: detached houses from around 1900 on generous plots, many with original front doors and hardware behind which modern cylinders have been fitted. West and south, detached and terraced houses of varying age, each with its own front door, garage and garden gate. The three are within walking distance of one another and have almost nothing in common at the door.

Getting to you

Pasing is well connected by the Landsberger Straße, the Mittlerer Ring and the motorway to the west. Around the station and the Arcaden parking is tight; in the residential areas and the villa colony it is considerably easier and it is usually possible to stop directly outside. The most useful thing you can give us, beyond the house number, is which of the three Pasings you are in — station area, villa colony, or the houses west of the Würm. They are minutes apart and the job is not the same.

What we are usually called for in Pasing

  • Flats in the new developments at the Pasing Arcaden with locking systems
  • Historic front doors in the Pasinger Villenkolonie
  • Front doors and garages of terraced and detached houses
  • Doors that latched shut in period buildings around the Marienplatz
  • Shop and office doors on Bäckerstraße and Landsberger Straße

Questions from Pasing

My house is in the villa colony and the front door is original. Will you damage it?

It is the right question to ask here, and the answer shapes how we work. Many front doors in the Pasinger Villenkolonie are original from around 1900, sometimes under heritage protection, with modern cylinders fitted into them at some point. The valuable part is the door; the working part is the cylinder, and that is what we open through. Where we think damage might be unavoidable, you hear it before anything is touched — on a door of that age, that conversation happens first.

I have just moved into one of the new flats at the Arcaden. What should I know?

That one key probably opens more than your flat. Those buildings use central locking systems: the same key serves the entrance, the underground garage, the letterbox and your door. Opening your flat is ordinary work; replacing the cylinder afterwards is not, because a standalone replacement would leave you unable to get through the front door or into the garage. That decision runs through the building management.

Pasing is quite far west. Does that cost more?

The travel component reflects the actual road distance, so yes, somewhat more than an address near the centre — and less than several places that feel closer on a map. The rest of the price does not change with the district. You get the full figure before anyone sets off, and there is no separate call-out charge added afterwards.
