A baroque palace, the oldest airfield in Germany, and houses in between.

Locksmith in Oberschleißheim

Oberschleißheim lies north of Munich on the Freising railway. It has two things most people know it for: the Schleißheim palace complex — three baroque palaces and a large park — and the Flugwerft, an aviation museum on what is the oldest surviving airfield in Germany.

The housing between them is straightforward: detached and semi-detached houses of the post-war decades, each with its own front door, garage and garden.

What it costs in Oberschleißheim

Oberschleißheim is in zone 3, the surrounding district, so travel is added to the opening — calculated over the whole journey by road from our premises to your address, not from the boundary onwards and not as a flat rate for the municipality. Within a single municipality the routes often differ by several kilometres, so a flat rate would either overcharge you or be unsustainable for us. The calculator shows the amount as its own line.

Google address check
For address suggestions and — only for addresses in zone 3 — for calculating the road distance, the address you enter is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited. Details are in our privacy policy.

The address decides the zone, and the zone is decided by its postcode. In Munich zones 1 and 2 travel is included; in zone 3 we calculate it from the actual driving distance.

Where Oberschleißheim is

Oberschleißheim sits north of Munich on the line towards Freising. The New and Old Schleißheim palaces with their park dominate the centre, and the Flugwerft Schleißheim with the special-purpose airfield lies beside them. The main routes are the Freisinger Straße, the Mittenheimer Straße and the Dachauer Straße. The districts of Badersfeld and Hochmutting lie to the north; research institutions and the approach towards Garching lie to the east. Unterschleißheim adjoins to the north and the Munich district of Feldmoching to the south.

What the buildings are like

Predominantly detached and semi-detached houses from the 1950s to the 1980s, with individual terraced rows and smaller apartment developments. Around the historic centre and near the palace complex there is older stock, partly under heritage protection, with correspondingly older doors and hardware — where the visible door is the protected part and any modern locking sits behind it. Badersfeld and Hochmutting to the north are village in character with agricultural outbuildings. Practically every house has a garage and a garden gate as well as the front door.

Getting to you

Oberschleißheim is reached by the A92, the B471 and the Freisinger Straße, with the approach from Munich passing the palace park. Events there — concerts, markets, the aviation museum's own — can cause delays, and we will say so on the phone if that is the case. Parking is otherwise unproblematic. Badersfeld and Hochmutting lie some way north of the main village, which shows in the travel component because it is calculated from the actual road distance rather than a rate for the municipality.

What we are usually called for in Oberschleißheim

  • Front doors of detached houses with garage and garden gate
  • Older, partly listed front doors near the palace complex
  • Agricultural outbuildings in Badersfeld and Hochmutting
  • Flat doors in the smaller developments in the centre
  • Garden buildings and sheds with simple locks

Questions from Oberschleißheim

My house is listed. Will you damage the door?

It is the right question and it changes how we work. Near the palace complex a number of buildings are under heritage protection, and typically the visible door is the protected part while the working lock is modern and sits behind it. We open through the cylinder wherever possible. Where we think damage might be unavoidable, you hear that before anything is touched — on a listed door that conversation happens first, not afterwards.

Is Badersfeld part of Oberschleißheim?

Yes, as is Hochmutting — both lie some way north of the main village with open ground between. For us that means a genuinely longer journey, which the travel component reflects because it comes from the actual road distance to your address rather than one figure for the municipality. Give the street and house number and the calculator handles it.

There is an event at the palace. Will that delay you?

It can, and we would rather say so than promise otherwise. The approach from Munich runs past the palace park, and larger events there — concerts, markets, museum days — bring heavy traffic to exactly that stretch. We will give you a realistic estimate for your address rather than the usual one. Addresses north of the village are generally unaffected.
