Heimstetten is the larger part — and the one nearer Munich.

Locksmith in Kirchheim

Kirchheim lies east of Munich between Feldkirchen and Poing. Like several municipalities here it is really three settlements, and the largest of them is not the one the municipality is named after.

Heimstetten, in the west, has the S-Bahn station and most of the population. Kirchheim itself lies further east, and Hausen is smaller again to the north.

What it costs in Kirchheim

Kirchheim is in zone 3, the surrounding district, so travel is added to the opening — calculated over the whole journey by road from our premises to your address, not from the boundary onwards and not as a flat rate for the municipality. Within a single municipality the routes often differ by several kilometres, so a flat rate would either overcharge you or be unsustainable for us. The calculator shows the amount as its own line.

Google address check
For address suggestions and — only for addresses in zone 3 — for calculating the road distance, the address you enter is transmitted to Google Ireland Limited. Details are in our privacy policy.

The address decides the zone, and the zone is decided by its postcode. In Munich zones 1 and 2 travel is included; in zone 3 we calculate it from the actual driving distance.

Where Kirchheim is

Kirchheim sits east of Munich between Feldkirchen and Poing. Heimstetten with the S-Bahn station lies in the west and is the most populous part; Kirchheim itself, with the church of St. Andreas, lies to the east; the smaller settlement of Hausen is to the north. The main routes are the Münchner Straße, the Räterstraße and the Heimstettener Straße. New housing has gone up in recent years mainly at the edge of Heimstetten. A commercial estate lies to the south on the trunk road. Feldkirchen adjoins to the west and Aschheim to the north.

What the buildings are like

In Heimstetten, detached, semi-detached and terraced houses of the 1970s to 1990s predominate, together with newer developments and building areas at the edge — those with modern locking systems and underground parking. Kirchheim itself is smaller in scale with older stock around the church and some agricultural outbuildings. Hausen is village in character. The commercial estate to the south has halls and works premises with commercial locking.

Getting to you

Kirchheim is reached by the B471 and the A99. Heimstetten lies closer to Munich than Kirchheim and Hausen, and there are several kilometres of country road between the settlements — a real difference that shows in the travel component, since it is calculated from the actual road distance to your address rather than one figure for the municipality. Parking is unproblematic. Saying which settlement you are in, alongside the address, saves us guessing.

  • New flats at the village edge with locking systems and underground parking
  • Older properties and outbuildings in Kirchheim and Hausen
  • Hall and works doors on the commercial estate
  • Garages and garden gates in the residential areas

Questions from Kirchheim

I live in Heimstetten. Do I say Kirchheim or Heimstetten?

Say Heimstetten and give the street — it is the more precise answer and the one that gets a technician to the right place. Heimstetten is a district of the municipality of Kirchheim and the larger part of it, which regularly confuses deliveries and satellite navigation alike. For the price it matters only through the actual road distance, which the calculator works out from the street and house number you enter — not from the name of the place.

How far apart are the settlements?

Several kilometres, over country roads. That is why we calculate travel from the actual road distance to your address rather than applying one figure to the whole municipality — a flat rate would overcharge Heimstetten and undercharge Hausen. Enter the street and house number in the calculator and you get the figure for your journey rather than an average of three.

I have just moved into one of the new developments. Anything worth knowing?

That one key probably opens more than your flat. New building at the edge of Heimstetten uses central locking systems covering the entrance, the flat, the cellar and the underground garage. Opening the flat door is ordinary work; replacing the cylinder afterwards runs through the building administration, because a standalone one would not open the shared doors. Worth knowing before you lose a key.
